In fact the rip is a kind of natural channel in the sandbar formed by water flowing back into the sea. In the Netherlands there are 2 kinds of rips, each with their own characteristics. So it is important to know which type of rip you are dealing with. Hereafter you see 2 pictures. Each picture shows a coast type at the coast of Holland.
