These rips are called fixed rips. The fixed rip currents occur if there are breaking waves in the surf-zone. The following picture shows the fixed rips in the sandbar at the red lines and at the green lines on the beach. This picture is taken at low tide. The green rips are also called minirips. Both rips do occur very often at the Dutch coast. It is difficult to recognize the fixed rip currents. The fixed rip currents are not always active. A thumb rule:
If waves break on the sandbar or at hight tide on the beach bar than the risk is high that these rips will become or are active.
